Saunas · 8 minute guide

Which sauna specifications actually matter?

A field-by-field explanation of heater, temperature, warm-up, interior size, electrical, materials, ventilation, and warranty.

Quick answer

The most decision-useful sauna fields are heat method, heater output and placement, usable interior dimensions, electrical requirements, warm-up to a usable session, ventilation, indoor/outdoor rating, materials, assembly, service access, and warranty coverage. Maximum temperature alone is not a quality score.

The specification hierarchy

Start with disqualifiers, then comfort, then ownership. A product that cannot be installed safely or does not fit your body is not rescued by speakers, colored lights, app control, or a long benefits list.

  • Installation: voltage, amps, hard-wire, clearance, base
  • Experience: heat method, heater layout, bench geometry
  • Ownership: warm-up, cleaning, service, warranty
  • Extras: controls, audio, lighting

Sources and evidence labels

Official sources support product facts; research sources support broader safety or physiology context; community-pattern links identify recurring owner questions and are not treated as product proof.
